Artist Session Policy [MUST BE 18+ TO BOOK]

At Aligning Stars, we believe creating music is more than simply recording a song. Our sessions are designed to give artists a complete creative experience—from developing ideas and sound to recording, creative direction, production, and capturing the journey.

Please review the following policy before booking.

1. Signed Service Agreement — Required

 

A signed Service Agreement is required for every booking before the booking is confirmed.

 

The agreement will identify the service being purchased, price, session format and length, client expectations, defined deliverables, payment terms, and applicable policies.

 

The client is responsible for reviewing and signing the agreement before the service begins.

 

2. Separate Rights Agreement — Required When Applicable

 

A separate written Rights Agreement is required whenever ownership, publishing, master rights, royalties, credits, or other music-related rights are applicable.

 

The Rights Agreement must document the specific terms agreed upon by the relevant parties. It is separate from the service fee and the Service Agreement.

 

Payment of a service fee does not automatically establish ownership, publishing splits, master rights, or royalty participation.

 

The relevant parties must sign the Rights Agreement before the music is released or commercially exploited.

 

3. Content Release Form — Required When Content Is Captured or Used

 

A separate Content Release Form is required whenever behind-the-scenes footage, photography, audio, or other content will be captured or used.

 

The form must clarify:

 

What content may be captured.

Whether the Provider may edit the content.

Where and how the content may be used.

Whether the client’s name, image, voice, or artist identity may be used.

Whether the client has any review or approval rights before publication.

 

Clients should identify any material or moments they do not want recorded or shared before the session.

 

No permission to publish content should be inferred solely from booking or attending a service.

 

4. Defined Delivery List — Required for Every Booking

 

Every booking must have a defined delivery list before the service begins.

 

The list must identify the specific files, materials, or other deliverables included in the service. The client should understand what they will receive and what is not included.

 

Deliverables are limited to the agreed list. Items not identified on the list are not automatically included.

 

Any change to the delivery list must be discussed and approved in writing by both parties.

 

5. No-Surprise Policy

 

The Provider will not be expected to perform work outside the agreed service scope without the client’s prior knowledge and approval.

 

If the client requests additional work, extra songs, additional session time, revisions, new deliverables, or services not included in the booking, the Provider will explain:

 

What additional work is being requested.

Whether it changes the timeline or deliverables.

Any additional fee or booking required.

 

No additional work will begin until the client approves the scope and price in writing.

 

The Provider will not add undisclosed fees. The client will not be entitled to additional services that were not included in the agreed scope or separately approved.

 

6. 50% Deposit — Required

 

A 50% deposit is required to reserve the booking. The deposit is applied toward the total service fee.

 

The remaining 50% balance is due before the session begins, unless a different payment schedule is agreed to in writing.

 

The Provider is not required to begin work or hold a session without the required deposit and completed booking documents.

 

Any cancellation, rescheduling, or refund terms must be provided to the client before payment and agreed upon in writing, consistent with applicable law.

 

7. Preparation and Punctuality

 

Clients are responsible for arriving on time and prepared with the materials required for their service.

 

Depending on the service, preparation may include:

 

Lyrics, verses, hooks, concepts, or ideas.

Reference tracks or reference beats.

Instrumentals the client has the right to use.

Songs or audio files submitted in advance.

Clear questions or creative goals.

 

For production sessions, a reference beat may be used to communicate direction; the client is not required to bring a finished beat.

 

Session time begins at the scheduled start time. Late arrival does not automatically extend the session.

 

If a client is unprepared, the session will still be limited to the agreed time unless an extension is separately approved.

 

8. Scope of Service

 

Each service includes only the work described in its listing and confirmed in writing.

 

Requests outside the agreed scope may require additional time, fees, or a separate booking.

 

Additional work will not begin until the scope, price, and expectations are agreed to in writing.

 

9. Creative Collaboration

 

Creative services involve collaboration, judgment, and artistic interpretation. The client is responsible for communicating their goals and participating in decisions.

 

Feedback and creative direction are professional perspectives, not guarantees of success or audience response.

 

The client retains final approval over their artistic choices unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

 

10. Deliverables and Revisions

 

Any specific files, exports, drafts, or revisions included in a service must be identified in the defined delivery list before the session.

 

Unlimited revisions are not included unless explicitly stated.

 

Requests for changes after the agreed service is complete may be treated as additional work and are subject to the No-Surprise Policy.

 

11. Rights, Credits, and Royalties

 

Service fees and rights participation are separate matters.

 

Ownership, publishing, master rights, royalty participation, producer and songwriter credits, and payment terms must be documented in a separate written Rights Agreement where applicable.

 

No client should assume that payment of a service fee automatically transfers all rights or establishes a royalty split.

 

Any agreed rights and credits should be reviewed and signed by the relevant parties before the music is released or commercially exploited.

 

12. Content and Privacy

 

Behind-the-scenes recording or photography will take place only within the permissions agreed to in the separate Content Release Form.

 

Clients should identify any material or moments they do not want recorded or shared before the session.

 

The parties should agree in writing on whether content may be posted, where it may be used, and whether the client may review it before publication.

 

13. No Guaranteed Outcomes

 

Aligning Stars and KobemadeThis provide creative services and collaboration. We do not guarantee record completion within a session, commercial success, streaming numbers, playlist placement, label interest, audience growth, or revenue.

 

Our commitment is to provide the service described, use the scheduled time professionally, and communicate expectations clearly.
